Why Volunteer?
Whether you're looking for something to fill the long summer holidays between university terms, taking a gap year, on a career break or simply looking to combine some volunteer work with a holiday in Cambodia, volunteering can be an extremely rewarding activity. Whether you are helping to deliver clean water in rural villages, teaching English, helping to construct school and community buildings or working as a legal intern, the benefits of completing a volunteer placement with Volunteer Cambodia! are invaluable. By completing one of our placements, volunteers are able to gain practical experience in their chosen field, seeing the direct results of their hard work and the impact it has on underprivileged communities or organisations striving to make improvements in areas as diverse as the rule of law, freedom of expression and economic development. Volunteering can enhance your future career prospects in an increasingly competitive market and help you stand out from the crowd; in many cases, volunteer placements can be that all important first step on the ladder, whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional looking for a change of direction.
Volunteer Cambodia! placements will enhance your CV and impress potential employers, as well as being an immensely rewarding personal experience. On successful completion of your placement you will receive a Certificate of Completion confirming your attendance so that you have an official record of your attendance.

Securing a Placement
Volunteer Cambodia! will match your skills, experience and expectations to one of our partner organisations in Cambodia. Members of our team based in Cambodia will ensure that the organisation you are placed with can offer you a suitable role that matches your skill set and from which you will gain useful practical experience. We will also ensure that the organisation matches our standards of responsible volunteering and child protection measures. We do not offer any placements in orphanages due to the detrimental impact we believe that this type of 'voluntourism' has on vulnerable children and young people.
Practical Assistance
All our volunteers will be provided with advice and support throughout the application process as well as during the placement itself. We can provide advice in terms of accommodation, activities to do in your spare time and if your placement is in Phnom Penh you will be invited to meet with a member of our Phnom Penh team on arrival to answer any questions you may have or simply to assist in orientation when you first arrive.
